Sponsor a Hope Ranch Horse

The horses here at Hope Ranch are our main volunteers! They have spent countless hours allowing kids to love on them and having kids learn how to ride on their backs. They are always willing to go the extra mile for the kids that they are ministering to.

The Catch:

Without these amazing animals, we would not have the ministry that we do. These horses are very valuable to the program and are extremely important to the many kids that come to Hope Ranch. It is very common to hear “Where is Maddie?” or “Do I get to ride MY horse today?” from the kids as soon as they arrive at the ranch. The catch is that the cost of horse care is one of our biggest expenses! We have developed this program to help offset some of these costs and it is a great way for families and others to help care for the horses that have made such a difference in their lives!

“Maddie”

Maddie has been in the programs at Hope Ranch since she was 3! She is a very talented horse with a sweet, laid back personality. She is our main “go to” horse in our lesson programs, especially for beginners. Her sweet, calm presence has been a healing touch to so many young hurting hearts. She is fun to ride and the kids can do just about anything on her from taking their first steps ever on a horse to going on a trail ride to running barrels and roping steers.

“Shivers”

Shivers is another one of our amazing horses for beginners. He is a highly trained rope horse and loves to turn a barrel. He is our oldest horse in the program and is new to lessons but he is handling them like a champ. He was a little unsure about all of the attention at first, but has warmed up to all of the kids lavishing their love on him!

“MOJO”
This gelding is a finished rope horse and has been in the program for two years now. Starting out he had a little too much energy for our beginner riders, but has really settled down and is handling lessons like a pro! He has a fun personality and will get a little jealous if other horses are getting attention and he is not. He is very gentle and kind and loves to be used…he is the first at the gate to be caught for the days work and absolutely hates being left behind!

“Diamond”
This young beauty started in programs at the age of three and is an amazingly talented mare! She loves to rope and run barrels and is doing so well starting in lessons for even beginners. She is an absolute sweetheart and is very social with kids, staying very calm when they are near. She has already touched so many hearts here at Hope Ranch!

“Classy”
Classy has been in the program for a year now. She is an older mare at 18 years of age and she has had a very full life doing what she loves, working on ranches! She spent this last year adjusting to the slower pace of life here at Hope Ranch and learning how to be a reliable lesson horse. She is doing so well and has had so many kids fall in love with her for her quirky personality and the fun they have learning how to ride with her.
